Harper Wise

Harper started practicing yoga with their mom in middle school in Connecticut where he grew up. He returned to the practice almost a decade and a wrist injury later, primarily as a way to reconnect to their body after working as a bartender. In 2022, they moved to Worcester, joined Hot Power Yoga Center, realized how much deeper the yoga tradition was, and couldn’t get enough. In the past five years, yoga has become absolutely crucial for their physical, emotional, and spiritual growth and wellbeing. Harper completed the 200 hour teacher training at Hot Power Yoga Center. He is so excited for the chance to share his love of the practice with others and grateful to be a part of this amazing community.

Outside of the studio, Harper is an avid plant parent, loud shower-singer, live music enthusiast, and would prefer to spend as much time at the beach as possible. Harper has a degree in Sociology from Tufts University and works in adult eduction and leadership development.

Harper Wise instructs the following:
  • Hot Power Vinyasa All Levels
  • The word Vinyasa means “linking breath to movement.” Our Vinyasa yoga classes are creative and teachers take students on a journey where the poses are found through breath. Vinyasa yoga is sometimes referred to as flow yoga since students flow from pose to pose in this style of class. In this vigorous flow students will be led through Sun Salutations, side bends, heart openers, backbends, hip openers, inversions, arm balances, standing poses, forward folds, core, twists and a floor sequence. Our classes are the perfect blend of all ways of stretching including a heavy focus on biomechanics and strength. We incorporate active and passive stretching, resistance variations of stretching, and use of props to add load or to modify.  These classes are for all levels. We offer a ton of modifications for all levels, so that each student can find the right variation of the pose that suits their unique needs.

  • Hot Power Vinyasa with candlelight
  • This class is done in candle light. Same as the regular hot power vinyasa class, only we add candle light to help relax the muscles and calm the mind.
